Although there are many places that I like to chill out, I’d say my favourite is actually my apartment here in Ho Chi Minh City, so I’m going to tell you about that.
It’s located in District 7, which is a residential area about 20 minutes from downtown. My neighborhood is quite developed with many restaurants and some shops close-by.
I rent a spacious two-bedroom apartment. I moved in there at the beginning of the year and so far I’ve been very happy with it.
It’s much nicer than my previous place which was much older and considerably smaller. The thing I like most about is that is has big windows and the view is amazing.
Obviously, as I live there, I spend a lot of time in my apartment, most evenings after work and at the weekends. Actually, I look forward to going back there after a hard days work!
Anyway, while there are many great things about it, there are two main reasons it’s an awesome place to unwind.
First of all, because it’s outside the city center and my apartment is on the 23rd floor, it’s really quiet. Right now, I am working in the city center where there are many traffic jams so it’s very noisy. Even when I’m in my office, I can hear the hustle and bustle of the street below.
Secondly, the complex I live in has a sizeable swimming pool. It’s the first time I have lived at a place with a pool so I’ve been taking full advantage of it. I usually go for a quick swim the minute I get home. Not only is it good exercise, it’s a great way to wind down. I’ve found it helps me to get out of ‘work-mode’.
To conclude, my apartment is a fantastic place to chill out and I feel very fortunate to live there.
